Our cycle and foot trails were designed together and intersect at various points. Please remember that CYCLISTS have the right of way over walkers, runners and dogs due to the speed they are traveling. All runners / walkers must stick to the walking trails and not walk on the cycling trails. Please follow the trail markings.
Huddle Park trails offer 5 different options of trails for beginner, intermediate, advance, and expert mountain bike riders for all ages. All our trails have a trail difficulty rating and can be found at the start and the beginning of each trail.
START 1 - at the pro shop & START 2 (preferred) - parking area of the trails section.
A small to medium size gravel pump track with two different tracks is available for all ages near the pro shop at START 1. Test your skill by mastering the technique of riding a pump track!
Follow a specific colour for each distance of a trail, Green 4km, Blue 6km, Yellow 10km, Red 15km and Black 20km.
Huddle Park trails is design to follow loops to give distance to each trail with its own interesting man- build obstacles to ride. Some sections you may ride twice to get to another interesting section of a man-built obstacles, look out for the trail markings to tell you in which direction to go.
Three interesting man-build sections called, the HILL, the FOREST and BERM ALLY can be found within these 5 different distances of trails depends on which distance you choose.
Green (4km) Kids trail with no obstacles to ride (beginner trail) or any novice. (Ideal for mom with kids. Recommendation: you can add the blue trail to this trail for distance on the second round.
Blue (6km) This trail includes Berm Alley where a rider can ride a lot of man-built berms. Ideal for beginner and expert all depends on how fast you are going.
Yellow (10km) This trail gives you distance for easy riding, with no man-build obstacles except for Berm Alley. Easy riding for beginners and experts all depends on your fitness level. Follow the correct signage at the intersections.
Red (15km) This trail includes the Forest section with bridges, berms and jumps. The Forest section is designed for the more experience rides with a good fitness level. The Forest section have different sections of man-built obstacles that the rides can follow. Follow the correct signage intersections. Recommendation: include the Hill section with its different man-build drops, bridge and berms.
Black (20km) This 20km trail is a combination of all the trails where all man-obstacles are ridden at least once and others more. Follow the correct signage at the intersections. Recommendation: include the Hill section with its different man-build drops, bridge and berms.
Huddle trails offer trail running or hiking within this beautiful trail section where the trails flow between beautiful wetland and dams with plenty of birdlife. You will not even realise that you are in the middle of JHB where you are one with nature. Bring your best 4 pawed friends with to join you on the run or walk.
The running/walking trails only has 1 start at the parking area of the trail section.
GUINEAFOWEL: (1.5km) A short but beautiful trail on the edge of different dams.
HADEDA BIRD: (5km) Where you will experience all the beauty of the trail section, dams, the forests, and wooden bridges across water streams.
Suggested time spent on the trails: 2 hours to full day (daylight hours)
